LG Flex is literally flexible. Instead of being rigid and built with glass and hard plastic, like any other smartphone you know about, it is made up of curved components. This means that it may literally be bent and even pressed.
It is possible to stand on this phone and not break it (be careful in testing that theory). It is a very slim phone that is flexible but still stiff. The images of it bending over which are available online are a bit of an exaggeration.
It is very light and very slim and it is built with plastic substrates that make it flexible. In other words, it is curved and hard, but flexible (it is hard to describe without having a play with it yourself).
Check out: iPad Air Features, Review and Pricing in India
There are exceptions in bending, the camera, battery or the processors, so look at it as a smartphone that is simply more durable (or less breakable) than other devices.
And, a phone that has a bit of a curve to it. The battery is placed within the curving flex phone by the use of stack and folding technology.
It reduces the pressure that is put on the battery when some one tries to bend it or tries to sit on it by mistake. It makes it harder to damage the battery with bending forces.
Features and Review
The LG Flex has the Android 4.2.2 operating system. Its dimensions are 6.32″ x 3.21″ x 0.31″, that is 160.5 x 81.6 x 7.9 mm. It weighs 6.24 Oz which is 177 gm.
It has a 6″ display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The pixel density is 245 pixels per inch which is pretty standard but not good enough compared to iPhone 5S and Google Nexus 7. It uses P-OLED multi touch display. Except for the curved and flexible screen, nothing else is really impressive.
The LG Flex Sensor
It comes with a proximity and light sensor. I wish they had inculcated a new type of sensor that can take the advantage of curved display and made it more interesting.
It has a battery that is 3500 mAh, which is a HUGE battery capacity for a phone. It is far bigger than most which is going to guarantee you a nice long standby time as well as very good talk time.. The battery is one of the most inflexible things on a phone.
You can create bendy and squash-able components for many types of phone internals. But, the battery is where they have really done well to make sure it does not split or burst when compressed or bent.
It powers the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 processor. The processor is a quad core which means it has four processors. It has a clock speed of 2260 MHz. Its graphics processor (GPU) is the Adreno 330.
It is 2048 MB (2 GB) RAM. It can handle most of the tasks that you do at it. It also comes with a gigantic 32 GB of storage, which is less compared to a 64 GB iPhone model.
It has notifications such as haptic feedback and it has musical MP3 ringtones and polyphonic ringtones. It has vibration mode, flight mode and silent mode as well as speakerphone which you will find in all other smartphones too. It comes with digital compass and an accelerometer sensors.
The camera featuring on LG Flex is a 13 mega pixel camera. It is very impressive and is currently the biggest mega pixel that any smartphone has. Samsung were the first to install one on a popular flagship phone, and it is now the highest mega pixel you are going to find on latest device.
It has a 1.2 MP front facing camera and Flash LED along with the rear camera.
Network and communications
It uses GSM: 900, 850, 1900, 1800 MHz and has LTE (Long Term Evolution) and HSPA compatibility. It also has EDGE and GPRS compatibility and uses GPS and A-GPS. It includes Bluetooth 4.0 and has Wi-Fi: 802.11 a, b, g, n, ac. It also has USB 3.0 and microUSB support. It has a mass storage device and USB charging port at its bottom.
LG Flex Self Healing Demo:
LG Flex Cost and Availability in India
The keynote event of LG was held specifically to announce the LG G Flex in India but the launch is expected in February, 2014.
There is no clear comment on what price consumers should expect but as per our sources, it would be priced around Rs. 60,000 – Rs. 65,000 and it will also depend on the Dollar rate at the time of launch.
But the question to ask is, people in India already think iPhone is a costly smartphone, will LG Flex make through the consumer market in India? An official from LG said they are planning to launch just 500 units of LG Flex in the first quarter.
This device is pretty unique and different from existing devices, having a curved screen and self healing back, but the Android operating system isn’t quite modified for the hardware and taken its full advantage.
We should see an update on that soon. What do you think about this device? Is it as seducting as the iPhone 5S’s finger print sensor was?

The HTC One smartphone although looks very classy and contends well to be one of the best smartphones in the current smartphone market, it has got quite a lot of problems in itself.
One of the very common issue that several users have reported about, is the capacitive touch buttons which were not responding well. For most of them, it was until a several hits that the phone responded once.
The HTC One Issue
The capacitive touch buttons not responding to the touch. The issue worsens when a screen guard is used, and the touch response gets far lesser then.
Solve the HTC One Capacitive button issue
According to a few users who confirmed, the company HTC was sending out a software update which could help resolve the issue, but again this won’t work for everyone because the root cause doesn’t remain the same for everyone. The update that would arrive would be a 1.29.xxx.12 one with the xxx being your region code. We aren’t sure how widespread this update is as of now.
For example, 1.29.709.12(214.04MB) was an update sent to a user in Taiwan, which had the update notes including – “virtual button sensitivity adjusted”.
This one is just a trial to see if it really works and if the issue gets resolved quite a bit if the first one didn’t work out for you. You need to get a factory reset done on your HTC One. Here’s how you can do it.
1. Slide the Notifications panel open, and then tap Settings.
2. Tap Backup & reset.
3. Tap Reset phone.
4. If you also want to delete media and other data on HTC One, select Erase all data.
5. Tap OK
If at all these don’t work, the final option you would have to do is to take the advantage of your warranty, given through your seller or the carrier and get the device replaced or repaired.

Flashing files into your android device has become a common task in the new era of modification. People like to flash files for purposes like applying different desirable themes, and unofficially updating their Android OS to initiate change into their lives.
All this is very time consuming and also requires many accessories (Data cables), that if lost; can create quiet a difficult situation as the whole plan rests on the connection of the android device with the PC.
Furthermore, flashing files via a data cable can be very irritating; both devices have to be at the same place to be connected to each other, both devices have to be fully charged for flashing without interruption, and the devices must be compatible with each other. All these requirements are sometimes very hard to meet. Luckily, a recognised member of XDA, has devised a fairly easy and fast method to flash files.
This will need no data cables, no close interaction between the PC and the android device, and no need to lose battery by switching places. Okay now, you must be wondering what the remoteflash is now.
Remoteflash will flash the required files from the PC to the android device over Wifi. This process requires the downloading of two files, one on your android device, and one on your PC (that stores the files you want to flash). A simple java application can be downloaded to act as a client on the PC, and an APK file will be downloaded on the android device.
1. You will need the Java application that is to be run on your PC
2. You will need the Remoteflash APK that is to be run on your android device
3. You will need Wifi
4. Disconnecting of all the other devices from the WiFi that are not to be involved in flashing.
5. Charged battery (90% should be taken as standard)
6. Open recovery script is recommended to recover by the developer.
How to flash files to Android Phone
When you download the APK file onto your android device, you must reboot the device so APK can start running. Now, you run the java application and hit ‘Auto Scan’.
Now, this is the important part; you must make sure that both the devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi, or else this won’t work. The scanning time can vary, but mostly it hooks up within 2 minutes tops.
After connecting, you will be given an option to connect with the device you want; choose the android device you want to flash your files on.
Now, check the Wipe Data/Cache option and hit ‘Go’. After this you will be asked what files to flash, you must select the files you want to flash from the directory and Bingo! After the flash is complete, it’s the usual protocol.
Just reboot and the flashed files will be present. Further details can be seen at the original thread of XDA developers if problems are encountered.
Following a number of speculations and reviews over the past several weeks, The Wall Street Journal is reporting today that the Cupertino Tech Giant Apple and China Mobile have finally agreed on signing an iPhone deal. The company says it is planned to schedule the launch later this month.
The deal goes into positive node for Apple after nearly 6 years of on-and-off arguments and negotiations, and will give Apple access to China Mobile’s 700 million+ subscriber base. Thats a whooping user base for any company to get through profits.
The WSJ’s Lorraine Luk has a say on it:
“China Mobile Ltd. 0941.HK +1.01% has signed a long-awaited deal with Apple Inc.AAPL -0.23% to offer iPhones on its network, a person familiar with the situation said, an arrangement that would give the U.S. technology giant a big boost in the world’s largest mobile market.
The rollout of iPhones on the world’s largest mobile carrier by users, with over 700 million subscribers, is expected to start later this month, around the time of a Dec. 18 China Mobile conference in Guangzhou, according to two people familiar with the carrier’s plans. China Mobile is one of the world’s last major carriers that doesn’t offer the iPhone.”
Apple and China Mobile have been in arguments for several years now, and CEO Tim Cook has visited to Beijing several times to for a high profile meet with the carrier’s Chairman on multiple occasions. His most recent visit was in July, where it’s believed that the two made significant striking of the deal.
News of the strike of deal has been expected since September, when the iPhone 5s and 5c were launched to the public. The two smartphones are Apple’s first handsets to support China Mobile’s TD-LTE network, which is also rumoured to launch on the 18th of this month.
